They are what we call civilization."

Love this picture, what type of bird is this. I have never seen one of these birds in the UK.

Interesting poem how does the bird fit alonng side the poem's message?

Thanks, Honey!

Thanks, Trojan! I have no idea what type of bird this is. I've only recently started photographing and paying attention to birds. So my bird knowledge is not up to par. :) I was wondering the same thing, so maybe I'll do a little research and find out.

As for the quote, it really doesn't have anything to do with the photo. It's a favorite quote of mine, from my favorite book. The book came up recently in comments between a blogger I've recently been following and myself. She's quite funny and a fan of that book as well. So I posted the quote.

Here's the address to her blog.

It's such a cute bird (it's so fat and fluffy!), and a good picture of it too. If I may ask, which camera you use? :)

Thanks, Fleecy. I use a Canon PowerShot SX10IS 10.0 MegaPx with 20x Optical Zoom. I reeeaaaallly want a SLR, but good things come to those who wait... or so I hear. :)

Wow! Great shot! Looks vintage... very cool color and I like how the bird is a little out of focus. too cool!

Oh. Thanks for telling me. I like to know what cameras people use when they have such a good picture. They say "it's a poor artist who blames their tools," but having good tools sure can help :)

I have a Canon Powershot G10, I love it. Only problem with it that I've had is the zoom is kind of limited (5x optical as opposed to 20x... wow!) so such a good close shot of a bird is really impressive to me.

You're welcome. I've been very happy with my camera. I'm already dreaming of my next camera, but my Canon was a step up from what I was shooting with before. I figure baby steps is the way to go.

Thanks so much for your kind comments. :)
