Ok... I know exactly what you are talking about. I get most jealous at weddings because that is where the Cadillacs of the camera world reside. Most of the time, I am able to feel as though I have the superior camera when I see people with their little point and shoots and me with my DSLR. I am jealous of that lens that guy is using.
but you were there, and that's what's most important.
