Full of Grace

I'm not Catholic, but I thought this statue of Mary with her crown of flowers was so beautiful. I had to take her picture. Since I'm not Catholic, the only reference point I have for the "Hail Mary" prayer is from movies. I was curious as to what the prayer says...

"Hail Mary, full of grace.
Our Lord is with you.
Blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen."

Please. Your next vaca? Go to Mexico!
You'll love it. I wish I had been taking pictures back then.
Also, my non-Erin photo session (by me, myself and fokken I) is up at blog camp. Nose picking themed. You have been warned.

I would love to go to Mexico. I'm sure it's full of Catholic statues and what not. To be honest, an overabundance of religious relics kind of freak me out. I once house-sat for a Catholic family who had a Mary or a crucifix or a Jesus statue in every spare corner. At night when I was alone, I'd catch Mary in the corner of my eye and jump. I feel like such a sissy writing that, but it's true. Haha! Because Mary is sooo scary?!

Hi! I am an art major, and I absolutely LOVE you pictures. I think non professional photographs are the best. They capture life, not trying to get some political point across. Keep shooting!! where in Michigan are you from? We vacation in Manistee/Ludington.

Thank you so much!!! I have to admit, I'm nervous to say exactly where we live, because I blog about my children and am cautious as to not let on too much as to where we can be found. You just never know... But I don't live far from Ludington. My husband took me there for my 30th birthday last year. Check out my archives from June of last year for some photos from Ludington. I think I've improved since then.

I love the statue. What a beautiful picture! I have a statue fetish, like, seriously. I have to have my picture taken with statues or take pictures of them pretty much every time I see one. Thanks for spawning an idea for a blog post. :)

Fidgeting- Check out the Cycling Sculpture in my July 2008 archive. It's a good one. It's in a sculpture garden in Saugatuck, MI. I actually have quite a few photos of sculpture from that little town... and from everywhere else. Maybe I, too, should do a sculpture themed entry. Someday soon!
